What to Wear For the SOPA Blackout!

The internet is making major moves to blackout sites to protest the passing of the SOPA bill. And while that in itself is really exciting, we thought you could make the day even more fun by getting into the cause with fashion. Because think of it this way, if SOPA passes, you may not have access to many of your favorite fashion sites because the bill may say they are pro-piracy, even if they are just comprised of user created content. And that would be a sad day for the fashionistas in us all.

So if you want to let the world know you are supporting the blackout, you can do so with some creative ideas. The first and easiest is to wear all black for the day. I’m sure we all have a great pair of black slacks, pumps, and a black blouse. You can let people know that you are visually supporting the blackout by blacking out your own wardrobe!

You can also put together that amazing outfit you were inspired to create from that YouTube video you loved or that user submitted fashion site. You can let people know that you found the inspiration from online and that if SOPA passes, your wardrobe just won’t be as amazing because you won’t be allowed access to these kinds of content.

Summer Skin Tips

fashionSummer means you’re outside, showing off, flirting around, having fun. You don’t want to be held back and you want to look your best, while at the beach, the rooftops, or the office. Here are a few tips on how to keep your skin looking its best.

Don’t go fake tanning. Natural tans have contours and lines that make you look like you’ve been in the sun. Fake tans look flat and processed. It’s like the difference between organic and hormone fed food.

There are a few tanning powders and creams, but nothing beats the look of a natural tan. Don’t forget to wear sunscreen that protects against UVA and UVB rays. As long as you stay safe in the sun, it’s okay to get away without wearing sunscreen here and there. But if you do it too often, by the time you’re in your late thirties you’ll begin to see the effects of unprotected skin: wrinkles, redness and dryness, not to mention an enhanced risk of melanoma.

So be careful in the sun, and then relax. If you have the time, exfoliate. And wear your skin proudly. You are young and beautiful as long as you feel so.

LEARN TO PLAN AHEAD

One of the main causes of wrinkles, headaches and illnesses is stress which is usually brought about by poor planning and sudden rush decisions.  People should always plan ahead what they need to accomplish for the day, make room for adjustments in case there are any untoward incidents or make provisions for emergencies, and more importantly, to stick to the plan or schedule no matter what happens.  Deviating from an established plans gives a clear headache because we suddenly become unprepared for the resulting consequences simply because it is not what we planned about.  Hence, next time, we should stick our original plans and not alter it even if there may be a lot of convincing done by other persons to deviate from it.  We can only preserve our beauty if we do our part on preserving it and there would be no need for these moisturizers and creams to make our skin look healthy, smooth and fresh. Just learn to plan ahead and avoid the stress.

WHY DO PEOPLE USE FACE MASKS

If we go to the store, we can see that some of the beauty products being sold are face masks.  But what are they exactly and for what purpose are they being used? Face masks rejuvenate the skin.  They remove those blemishes and acts as a cleanser by penetrating deep into those pores. For those with oily skin, it operates as a moisturizer. It actually helps brighten the skin that once it is removed, the wearer will really feel rejuvenated by it with a new feeling of freshness.  Aside from its aesthetic benefits, it is also relaxes our mental faculties in a way. However, it should be remembered that face masks have to be placed for only 15-20 minutes.  If it stays too long, instead of relaxing the skin, it may stretch it too much, making it grow weary and tired.  In the end,  we may end up having dry skin and facial wrinkles.

People are vain by nature, and are really obsessed with the way they look.  They spend more time searching for ways to remove that zit in their face, erase those wrinkles,  take off those unwanted hair, or even make their skin look more fairer. This obsession to improve on their aesthetic beauty is what cosmetic companies are banking on to make their living, but then, that is another story.  People buy cosmetic products to look beautiful and desirable to others, period.  They always want to project that perfect look and maintain that projection of innocence and freshness. Why, even the wealthiest man in the world would marvel a pretty face who could be coming from a not so well-to do family.  Individuals get to spend tons of money just to have a pretty face, and this can be traced to man’s natural obsession of wanting to look beautiful in the eyes of others.  A born narcissist, so to speak.

First and foremost, everyone should take Zinc daily in order to prevent this problem from happening.  Next, dandruff problems are created sometimes due to certain health deficiencies, such as low levels of Vitamins A, B B12, F and selenium. Naturally, if the person sees his level count as too low, the most prudent think to do is to increase the food intake, particularly those foods rich in vitamins A, B6, B12, F and selenium. However, if the problem is really that serious, it is always good to be prepared food every contingency.

A GOOD NIGHT’S SLEEP

Individuals are required to get at least eight hours of sleep every day.  However, some tend to abuse their bodies and prefer taking a short and quick catnap.  Unknown to them, they slowly wear down their bodies which later becomes manifest when eye bags set in or those weary tired faces begin to show those creases and facial lines.

Our bodies are not machines, and even though we have the strength to get up in the morning after having only slept a little, like automobiles, our physique is being subjected to the usual wear and tear.  This is why some people tend to look older than what they actually are.   Moreover, not getting enough sleep makes a person cranky in the morning and would eventually lead to what would be the start of a stressful day. So give our bodies that much needed rest because it deserves it .  A well-rested mind and body promotes a healthy one.
